Social Marketing Goals from Microsoft – We knew that we wanted to accomplish scale and consolidation. Really, we wanted to create a better experience for our fans. The prior approach was very scattered as every country or region created it’s own social media presence. There were at least 25 separate Facebook pages and we knew that we needed to organize our presence so fans could find us. The consolidation piece was important but we didn’t want it to be a corporate, behemoth Facebook page. One of the coolest aspects of social is the personal relationship you can have with a brand. The solution that Vitrue and Windows put together was really the best of both worlds. We have local, audience-based information that you always look for with social media but it’s all on one big page.
